Itinerary

<span> Day 1</span> Luang Prabang Airport Pick-up

Upon arriving in Luang Prabang, your local guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After checking in, you have the afternoon at your leisure to unwind and explore the surrounding area at your own pace.

<span> Day 2</span> Luang Prabang Highlights

After breakfast, you'll be taken to the bustling Morning Phousi Market to witness the traditional alms-giving ceremony, where saffron-robed monks collect offerings from local residents. Following this, visit the Royal Palace Museum, previously the residence of the king (please note it is closed on Tuesdays). Here, you can admire an array of artifacts, including rare furniture, traditional garments, artwork, jewelry, ornaments, and various historical tools and utensils. In the afternoon, explore the local villages of different Lao ethnic groups, including Ban Ouay (Hmong), Ban Ou (Laoloum), and Ban Thapene (Khmu). Next, you'll head to the stunning Kuang Si Falls, where you can either swim in the turquoise pools or take a stroll along the scenic forest trails. The day will conclude with a visit to Wat Xieng Thong, a 16th-century golden monastery.

<span> Day 3</span> Cruise tour from Luang Prabang to Pakbeng

In the morning, your driver will collect you from your hotel and take you to the boat pier to begin your upstream cruise to Pakbeng. Along the way, you'll stop to explore the renowned Pak Ou Caves (Tham Ting), famous for housing thousands of Buddha statues. A local lunch will be served on board. You'll then have the afternoon to unwind and relax as the boat continues its journey. You'll reach Pakbeng by evening and check into your accommodation for the night.

Please note: Departure dates for the upstream cruise may vary due to operational and weather conditions.

<span> Day 4</span> Cruise Tour to Houayxay

Today, we will embark on a brief guided tour of Luang Prabang's oldest temple, Wat Sene, and the stunning Wat Xiengthong, renowned for its traditional low, sweeping roofs that exemplify classic Luang Prabang temple architecture. Following this, we will board a boat for a scenic journey upstream on the Mekong River, offering picturesque views of the serene countryside and a fascinating exploration of the Pak Ou Caves. These two interconnected caves are filled with thousands of gold-lacquered Buddha statues of varying sizes and forms, left by devoted pilgrims. Along the way, we will visit Ban Xanghai, a village known for its local rice wine. After returning to Luang Prabang, we'll take a short drive to Ban Phanom, famous for its traditional hand weaving.

<span> Day 5</span> Drive to Luang Namtha via Nam Ha National Park

Following breakfast, you'll be taken to Luang Namtha, traveling through the picturesque Nam Ha National Park. You'll reach Luang Namtha by the afternoon, where you'll check into your hotel and have some time to unwind and relax.

<span> Day 6</span> Luang Namtha Trekking

After breakfast, you will embark on a Tuk-Tuk journey south towards Doiluckkam (Lao for Gold Mountain), a ride of approximately 35 minutes. Accompanied by your local guide, who is well-versed in the area's trails, forests, and herbal remedies, you'll explore the mountain and delve into the Nam Ha National Protected Area. As you trek through the lush forest, you might encounter or hear wild animals and birds and see their tracks. Your guide will share insights into the traditional uses of medicinal plants, edible leaves, and local hunting techniques. Following a traditional picnic lunch, you'll continue your trek on a flat and downhill path through the primary forest, concluding your hike near the Khmu Tribal village in Nam Ha. The Tuk-Tuk will then return you to Luang Namtha town.

<span> Day 7</span> Drive to Nong Kiaw

After breakfast, you will be transported to Nong Kiaw, a charming and tranquil town situated along the Ou River in Laos. Once you arrive, you will be checked into your hotel for the stay.

<span> Day 8</span> Nong Khiaw Cruise to Muang Ngoi

In the morning, you will set off for Nong Khiaw and embark on a traditional longboat cruise up the Nam Ou River. The journey will first take you through Muang Ngoi, where you will visit the village of Ban Sop Jam. This village is renowned for its traditional Lao silk and cotton weaving, offering an opportunity to purchase some exquisite textiles if desired.

After exploring the village, you will head back downstream to Muang Ngoi. Once there, enjoy a coffee break before embarking on a short trek through stunning landscapes of limestone cliffs, mountains, and rice paddies. The trek will offer spectacular natural views. Upon returning to Muang Ngoi, you will board the boat for the return cruise, taking in the picturesque sunset over Nong Khiaw.

<span> Day 9</span> Nong Khiaw Trekking to 100 Waterfall & Drive to Luang Prabang

Your day will begin with a boat journey along the Nam Ou River to a quaint village, where you’ll gain insights into the local way of life. From there, a guided trek will take you through small streams and rice paddies, leading you to the base of the 100 Waterfall. The next few hours will immerse you in the beauty of the jungle and the soothing sounds of cascading waterfalls. The inviting pools are perfect for a refreshing dip.

Your guide will navigate the cascades and prepare a traditional lunch amidst the falls. Following the meal, you’ll hike down a local trail from the top of the waterfall into the valley, taking in the stunning vistas of the Nam Ou landscape. After returning to the village, you’ll have additional time to observe the local daily activities before boarding a small boat back to Nong Khiaw. Later in the day, you’ll be transported to Luang Prabang.

<span> Day 10</span> Luang Prabang Airport See-off

After enjoying your breakfast, you'll be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. We wish you a pleasant journey home!
