Embark on a captivating 5-day journey through Laos, where you’ll discover the charm and beauty of this enchanting country. Begin in Vientiane, the serene capital, and explore its key landmarks including the revered Pha That Luang and the historic Wat Si Saket. Travel next to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its stunning temples and vibrant night market. Cruise the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves, famous for their thousands of Buddha statues. This tour offers a perfect blend of cultural immersion, scenic landscapes, and historical exploration.
Upon arriving at the airport, you'll be greeted by your driver and an English-speaking guide who will assist with a private transfer to your hotel. After checking in, you’ll have the rest of the day to relax.
Overnight stay in Vientiane.
In the morning, we'll begin with a visit to Wat Si Muang, renowned for its reputed supernatural powers. Following this, we will head to Buddha Park, an enchanting site featuring a collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures along the Mekong River, close to the "Bridge of Friendship." This park boasts around 200 religious figures, some over 500 years old, created by a mysterious monk who shared his views on life and the universe through these artworks.
In the afternoon, we’ll explore the city’s iconic landmarks, starting with Wat Sisaket, known for its thousands of small Buddha statues. We'll also visit Wat Prakeo, an ancient temple famous for housing the Emerald Buddha in the past. As we proceed towards the revered That Luang Stupa, Laos' national symbol, we'll make a stop to photograph the striking Patuxay Monument, often referred to as the Lao "Arc de Triomphe."
We’ll conclude the day with a stunning sunset view over the Mekong River.
Overnight stay in Vientiane.
After breakfast, you'll be transferred by car and guide to the airport for your flight from Vientiane to Luang Prabang.
Upon arriving in Luang Prabang, you'll complete the disembarkation process and meet your guide for transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, begin exploring this historic Laotian capital, situated at the junction of the Khan and Mekong rivers. Visit some of the city's most significant temples, including Wat May, Wat Vixoun, and Phou Si Hill, where you’ll find a collection of more recent temples. Return to the hotel after your tour.
Overnight in Luang Prabang.
You have the option to start your day early with your guide at around 5:30 a.m. to experience the traditional 'Tak Bat,' a morning ritual where alms are offered to monks. This is a cherished custom in Luang Prabang. Before heading back to your hotel for breakfast, you may also visit a local fresh market to observe the shopping habits of the residents.
Next, explore the Royal Palace Museum, constructed in 1904 during the French colonial era under King Sisavang Vong. Following this, enjoy a leisurely river cruise on the Mekong, soaking in the serene countryside views before reaching the intriguing Pak Ou Caves. These two interconnected caves are adorned with thousands of gold-lacquered Buddha statues of various sizes, left by local devotees. We’ll also stop at Ban Xanghai, renowned for its rice wine production.
On our return to the city, we’ll visit the stunning Wat Xieng Thong, a prime example of traditional Laotian temple architecture. The day concludes with a visit to the Night Market, where you can admire a range of handcrafted textiles from local artisans and nearby hill tribes.
Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Following breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel by our English-speaking guide. We will begin our day with visits to the villages of Ban Ouay, Ban Ou, and Ban Thapene. Next, we will proceed to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in its tranquil turquoise pools or take a leisurely stroll through the surrounding fields.
Afterward, we will head back to Luang Prabang. From there, your driver will take you to the airport.
