Laos Explorer 11 Days

Luang Prabang boasts a rich array of cultural treasures. Today, we'll explore the Royal Palace Museum, Wat Mai, and Wat Xieng Thong. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the renowned Kuang Si waterfalls for a refreshing swim and stunning photo opportunities. In the evening, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the town's night market, where you can enjoy tasty local cuisine and practice your haggling skills.

For those up early, you’ll witness the traditional Sai Bat ceremony, where locals present food offerings to monks during their morning alms procession. Following breakfast, we’ll visit a local rice farm to discover the daily life of farmers who cultivate one of Asia’s staple foods. In the afternoon, we’ll hike to the pagoda on Mt. Phousi to enjoy breathtaking sunset views from the top, before returning to Luang Prabang for our final evening.

Today, we travel south to Vang Vieng in our private vehicle. Upon arrival, we’ll embark on a picturesque drive through the rice paddies to visit one of the region’s famous blue lagoons—remember to bring your swimwear! After a revitalizing swim, we’ll dive into the local nightlife of Vang Vieng to see what the evening has to offer.

The region around Vang Vieng is renowned for its many caves. Today, we’ll visit several of these, including a stop for tubing inside the Tham Nam water cave. Afterwards, we’ll head to the Nam Song River to start our tubing journey. Spend the afternoon leisurely drifting downstream, following the same route that made Laos famous among backpackers.

Start your day with some leisure time before we set off again, this time heading to Laos’ capital, Vientiane. Once there, take some time to familiarize yourself with the area before heading out to explore one of the local beer shops. Enjoy the vibrant local nightlife, complete with music, lively atmosphere, and optional drinks. It's an excellent way to spend your evening in the capital.

Today, we explore some of Vientiane’s key landmarks. Our itinerary includes a visit to Buddha Park, Patuxai (often called Vientiane’s Arc de Triomphe), and one of Laos' most renowned Buddhist temples, Pha That Luang. After the city tour, it's time to bid farewell to those concluding their 7-day journey. For those extending their adventure on the full 11-day tour, enjoy a free afternoon to explore at your leisure before we board an overnight bus to Pakse later this evening.
