Upon your arrival in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, you will be greeted and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Vientiane is an enchanting city that blends Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, and American influences. After a brief rest, we will embark on a tour of the city's key attractions, including Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple adorned with thousands of small Buddha statues, and Wat Prakeo, the former royal temple that once housed the renowned Emerald Buddha. On the way to the iconic That Luang Stupa, a revered national monument, you'll have the chance to photograph the impressive Patuxay Monument, often referred to as Vientiane's Arc de Triomphe. Conclude your day by enjoying the sunset along the picturesque Mekong River.

In the afternoon, we take a brief flight to Xiengkhouang. Upon arrival, we proceed to explore the Plain of Jars, a fascinating archaeological site scattered with hundreds of large stone jars across the plateau. Later, we have the opportunity to visit the former capital of Muang Khoun Province and nearby villages inhabited by the Hmong hilltribe and Tai Dam people. These communities offer a glimpse into their unique culture and vibrant history.
Overnight in Phonsavanh.
In the early morning, we head to the Central Market in Phonsavanh to witness the vibrant trade among various hill tribe communities. We then set off for Luang Prabang, making stops along the way to explore the ancient Buddha images at Thampra, a site over 200 years old, and visit several Hmong and other hill tribe villages. After a photo opportunity, we continue our journey through the picturesque mountain scenery, lush forests, and landscapes, arriving in Luang Prabang, renowned as one of Asia's most charming traditional towns.
Upon reaching your hotel and checking in, time permitting, we will visit the remarkable Wat Visoun stupa, along with the shrines of Wat Aham and Wat Mai. We'll then ascend Mount Phousi to explore its sacred, gilded stupa and enjoy panoramic views of the city and Mekong River at sunset. The evening concludes with a visit to the Night Market, where you can find exquisite handmade textiles crafted by local and hill tribe artisans. Overnight stay in Luang Prabang.
Today, we embark on a brief guided tour of Luang Prabang's historic temples, including the ancient Wat Sene and the stunning Wat Xiengthong, known for its classic Laotian architecture with its gracefully low-sweeping roofs. Following this, we board a boat for a serene cruise up the Mekong River, offering magnificent views of the peaceful countryside. Our journey includes a visit to the intriguing Pak Ou Caves, where countless gold-lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes are housed, left by devoted pilgrims over the years. We will also make a stop at Ban Xanghai, a village renowned for its rice wine production, before heading to Ban Phanom, a small village famous for its traditional hand weaving.

After breakfast, we head to the National Museum, housed in the former Royal Palace (closed on Tuesdays), which showcases a range of artifacts illustrating the depth of Lao culture from the era of the early kings to the last monarch. Following this visit, we'll have some time to explore the Central Market. Subsequently, you will be taken to the airport for your departure flight.
